Injury Report

You may have noticed that I’ve been on a wee blogging hiatus as of late. To make a long story short: I hurt my leg. Actually, the doctor’s notes say it is a tear/injury of the [some incomprehensible doctor writing] muscle. I wish that I could say that this injury was the result of something cool, like surfing or something….but I did it while walking down the stairs. And then I was too stubborn to stop walking on it, so it happened again. And again.

I do realize that I don’t require use of my lower extremities to type, so this is a pretty weak excuse. However, being confined to my bed (that is, when my 97th-percentile-for-weight-and-height baby doesn’t need me to lug him around) does not make for interesting blogging material… Today I ate Market Pantry Thin Wheats, which are a shameful excuse for crackers. Then I pondered why we don’t have a television in the bedroom, because I am super bored and would like to watch Glee.

One day I was feeling ambitious enough to hobble around the house, artfully staging pictures of the projects I completed before my leg went kablooey… a t-shirt, a pillowcase, decoupaged wooden boxes. As I snapped the very last shot, my camera displayed an error message: “This memory card cannot be used. Card may be damaged. Insert another.” By the time I had determined that my photos were irretrievably lost and convinced my husband to buy a new memory card for me, it was too dark for picture-taking and my motivation had waned.

So it was back to my exciting routine of surfing the Internets on my ridiculously slow netbook and reading The Lady in the Tower. Fingers crossed that I survive my MRI (scary!) and get back on my feet soon.

Ha! You’re so funny…and I feel for you. My son is in the 95 percentile too…phew. And I am strongly right handed (which means my left hand is useless) so my arm feels as though it will fall off after holding him for only a few minutes. Sad.

I hope your back in action soon! I’ll come over this week and we can craft and get you out of your rut. I have an adorable idea for a shirt I think you’ll want for Brady so we can make them together!
